How to Setup SharePoint Alerts

I recommend setting alerts on all the SharePoint sites you frequent. I subscribe to numerous sites and automatically get updates in my email when sites add documents or make changes.

These alerts are great for getting updates from DEAMS, AFAFO and other sites with frequent changes. The AFAOC put together this guide for the DEAMS site, but the functionality is the same for all SharePoint sites.

Every FM SharePoint Site Across the Air Force

Every comptroller should scan SharePoint sites to see what other units are doing and how they communicate with their customers. Sadly, most units aren’t doing much. SharePoint has a fantastic arsenal of web parts to showcase things like your status of funds, customer surveys, dynamic unfunded lists, etc. I am continually learning about new features and ways to improve our site.

My goal is to scour every FM site across the Air Force and highlight units taking an innovative approach. My unit hosts a Power BI app as well as takes customer service tickets on the FMF side (don’t worry, the PII Gods have approved it). Check our tools and give me feedback in the comments below. I’ve already generated a ton of news ideas while doing my research.
